Everyone want sometimes to play historical strategy or war games, as someone who enjoy World War 2 games, I’m often searching for exceptional games set during this devastating conflict. WarStory: Europe in Flames is browser World War 2 game, with innovative gameplay, high quality graphics and interesting gameplay. You are becoming ambitious commander who is willing to capture Berlin and finish the war. Are you accepting this challenge?
First thing is to choose which side we want to play during the game; US or USSR. Axis forces are controlled only by AI. What is important our choice is related to War Theater or front, by picking US, we are fighting at western front, and USSR, eastern front which is historically correct. By taking Berlin, race is over and is restarting. As player, our role is to command units on the battlefield, beating Germans. They are occupying large part of the Europe, and we must take town after town, from their hands. During various missions, we are struggling to win “race to Berlin” and this way end the war. WarStory is focusing only on the battle, controlling units and tactics. Everything else isn’t important.
There are dozens of unique units available in the game and every single one is from World War 2, so every tank, artillery or infantry was used in this conflict. Each have own strengths and weaknesses, abilities very helpful during our road to the ultimate victory. After some time, we will know which one is best during certain circumstances and when we have to use it properly. Maneuvers and better tactics are the key to success! During the battles, we can defeat enemy units much easier when we attack them from rare or by surrounding them. Minimalize your casualties; minimalize your effort to be the greatest commander during the World War 2! Firstly I was little bit skeptical, but after few hours it’s hard to finish the game; of course game is limited and we need to stop playing or play and this way Bigpoint want to suck our wallets, but we really don’t have to do it, like in some new World War 2 games.
WarStory is great and very entertaining, showing us spirit and great idea for the game. Bigpoint created very good online war game, I was positively surprised with idea and quality; game is really enjoyable and different from other browser World War 2 games available. And it’s set during World War 2 which is great!

World of Tanks is innovating mix of free online war game and tank shooter, set during the war. World of Tanks is giving us the chance to control bunch of tanks and fight enemies on the various maps, from devastated town, to forests near Prokhorovka. Ready for spectacular battles up to 60 players, each controlling tank like Tiger, T34 or IS-2?! One of the most original World War 2 games is waiting for you!
World of Tanks is another very good online war game, set during the World War 2, this time its team based, shooting game. In game vehicles – not only tanks, but also tank destroyers or self propered guns – where used this terrible struggle and we can choose between hundreds of them. There are 3 faction to choose with own tech tree and vehicles, which mean there is a lot of everything from tanks to guns. Also we can buy few types of ammunition – armor piercing or high explosive. Main feature are battles where players can clash in deadly struggle; max 60 players, 30 on each side and those who take enemy base are wining the match. There are others modes, but this one is probably the most accurate for beginners. In team deathmatch our mission is to capture enemy base, so first of all we must eliminate all the opponents or they will eliminate us. As a newbie, you will die a lot of times, so be prepared and try to alt+tab the game for a while. In World of Tanks after each battle we are receiving much needed experience (used to buy technology) and credits. We are buying technology tree to upgrade our tank or research another, better one. Credits are the main currency used in World of Tanks, so we can purchase new, more powerful tanks, new crew members or more powerful cannon with better range or bigger caliber. There is also possibility to buy new engine or radio system with longer range.
World of Tanks is quality game, with deep gameplay and amazing World War 2 vehicles (King Tiger or IS-3 during the battle is something I what will never forget. Game is for everyone, for all who enjoy original shooting games or World War 2 games. World of Tanks is worth to try, it’s the best tank simulation available!
3. War2: Dawn of Nations
War2: Dawn of Nations is popular World War 2 game, where we are playing as one of Army Commanders. Game offers a lot of various features, like city development, PvP combat, historical units and deep complexity.
There are many browser based World War 2 games, but surely War2: Dawn of Nations is should be for people who really enjoy World War 2 settings, and strategy. Generally in game goals are quite simple, we must build our base/city’s economy, develop whole infrastructure to build our army which is essence of the game. War2: Dawn Of Nations is looking quite well for 2D browser game visuals are helping us to better manage our “business”, which is helpful. Navy Field is a nice online war game, set during World War 2. We can control historical ships and battle it out with up to 128 players at a time. Game has 11 modes and 8 ship types, Navy Field it’s one of the most unique World War 2 games created.
NavyField is World War 2 naval simulator, maybe not very realistic, but relaying on exciting battles. Even though game graphically is out of date, it’s showing us great idea for the game. One tip – before you start your adventure with NavyField, you should learn everything from game tutorial or everything will be much difficult; there are several tutorial missions so I suggest completing them all for your own good. After that we are starting the game in the harbor, while having a small frigate. Each available ship has a large variety of attributes, showing their strength and weaknesses. Similarly to other free online war games, there are few game modes, with the most popular Great Battle.
Main feature in Navy field are epic battles where up to 128 players can take part in the same time. During the battle we can fight (or pick) from submarines to powerful aircraft carriers. Of course on the beginning our tiny frigate has tiny chance to survive, however after some time ever play will be able to obtain more powerful ships. After some time, you will be much more powerful, your ship’s guns will be a lot bigger and you will definitely be a more dangerous opponent for any ship in your range.
Navyfield is very original war game, which is showing us naval battles, spectacular battles and above all else World War 2 spirit. Even graphically is looking poor, it’s worth to try out, especially if you are looking for original World War 2 games.
